Service of Notice of Motor Carrier Applications

   The following temporary authority and/or permanent authority applications for the right to render service as a common carrier or contract carrier in this Commonwealth have been filed with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (Commission). Publication of this notice shall be considered as sufficient notice to all carriers holding authority from this Commission. Applications will be considered without hearing in the absence of protests to the application. Protests to the applications published herein are due on or before August 25, 1997 as set forth at 52 Pa. Code § 3.381 (relating to applications for transportation of property and persons). The protests shall also indicate whether it applies to the temporary authority application or the permanent application or both.

   Applications of the following for approval of the beginning of the exercise of the right and privilege of operating as common carriers for transportation of persons as described under each application.

   A-00114129. Rostraver/West Newton Emergency Service (100 Pleasant Valley Boulevard, Belle Vernon, Westmoreland County, PA 15012)--persons in paratransit service: (1)  who are nonambulatory, in wheelchairs, in vehicles equipped with wheelchair lifts and persons in vehicles equipped to handle stretchers, between points in the townships of Rostraver, South Huntingdon, and the boroughs of Smithton, Sutersville, and West Newton, all located in the county of Westmoreland, and from points in said area, to points in Pennsylvania, and vice versa; and (2)  between points in the townships of Rostraver, South Huntingdon and the boroughs of Smithton, Sutersville and West Newton, all located in the county of Westmoreland, and from points in said boroughs and townships, to points in Pennsylvania, and vice versa. Washington Township/Fayette City Community Ambulance Service (1392 Fayette Avenue, Belle Vernon, Fayette County, PA 15012), a corporation of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania--persons in paratransit service who are handicapped or in vehicles equipped to handle stretchers, between points in the boroughs of Belle Vernon, Fayette City and Perryopolis, and the townships of Washington, Jefferson and Perry, all located in Fayette County, the borough of North Belle Vernon and the township of Rostraver, both located in Westmoreland County, and the boroughs of Dunlevy, Allenport, Stockdale, Roscoe, Elco, Long Branch and California, all located in Washington County, and from points in said territory, to points in the counties of Fayette, Washington, Westmoreland and Allegheny, and vice versa.

(100 John Street, Troy, Bradford County, PA 16947), a corporation of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania--persons, in paratransit service, who are disabled or require assistance to ambulate, between points in the counties of Bradford, Tioga, Sullivan, and Lycoming, and from points in said counties, to points in Pennsylvania, and vice versa.    Applications of the following for approval of the additional right and privilege of operating motor vehicles as common carriers for transportation of persons as described under each application.

   A-00111898, Folder 2. Touch of Class Limo, Inc. (377 Main Street, Kingston, Luzerne County, PA 18704), a corporation of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania--additional right--persons in group and party service, between points in the counties of Luzerne, Lackawanna, Pike, Wayne, Susquehanna, Monroe, Wyoming, Carbon and Columbia, and from points in said counties, to points in Pennsylvania, and return; subject to the condition that the authority herein is limited to the transportation of not more than 15 persons including the driver, on any one trip.    Applications of the following for approval of the beginning of the exercise of the right and privilege of operating motor vehicles as common carriers for the transportation of persons by transfer of rights as described under each application.

   A-00074567, Folder 3, Am-D. Trans-Bridge Lines, Inc. (2012 Industrial Drive, Bethlehem, Lehigh County, PA 18017), a corporation of the State of New Jersey--(1)  persons in groups and parties from the boroughs of Mauch Chunk and East Mauch Chunk, Carbon County, to various points and places in Pennsylvania; subject to the following condition: That the rights, powers and privileges hereby granted are limited and restricted to the transportation of groups and parties of persons, to special excursions, and to tours or sight-seeing trips, all of which transportation originates at or in the boroughs of Mauch Chunk and East Mauch Chunk, Carbon County. (Note: The boroughs of Mauch Chunk and East Mauch Chunk were consolidated as the borough of Jim Thorpe in 1954); (2)  groups and parties of persons and persons on special excursions and tours or sight-seeing trips from points in the townships of Penn Forest and Kidder, Carbon County, to points in Pennsylvania and return; (3)  groups and parties of persons from the borough of Walnutport and the township of Lehigh, Northampton County to points in Pennsylvania; (4)  groups and parties of persons from the townships of Washington, Heidelberg, Lynn and Weisenberg, Lehigh County, to points in Pennsylvania; (5)  groups and parties of persons and persons on special excursions and tours or sight-seeing trips from the boroughs of Palmerton, Bowmanstown and Parryville, Carbon County, to points in Pennsylvania; (6)  groups and parties of persons and persons on special excursions and tours or sight-seeing trips from points in the county of Carbon and the borough of Sladington, Lehigh County, to points in Pennsylvania; subject to the following condition: That no right, power or privilege is granted to render service from points in the boroughs of Jim Thorpe, Nesquehoning, Weatherly and Beaver Meadows and the villages of Junedale, Coxeville, Hudsondale, Audenreid and Tresckow, all in the county of Carbon; (7)  groups and parties of persons and persons on special excursions and tours or sight-seeing trips, between points in the borough of Nesquehoning, Carbon County, and from points in said borough, to points in Pennsylvania; and (8)  in group and party service, from points in the counties of Lehigh, Monroe and Northampton, to points in Pennsylvania, and return; subject to the following condition: Provided that no right, power or privilege is granted to transport persons in trackless trolley-type vehicles with a seating capacity of not less than 20 or more than 39, excluding the driver; which is to be a transfer of all of the rights authorized under the certificate issued at A-00023824, F. 5 to Jim Thorpe Transportation Company, subject to the same limitations and conditions.
