DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH

Year 2000 State Plan of Program Operations and Administration for WIC; Public Meetings

   In accordance with 7 C.F.R. 246.4(b), the Department of Health (Department) has scheduled two public meetings for the purpose of obtaining comments and recommendations for the development of the Year 2000 State Plan of Program Operations and Administration for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) in Pennsylvania.

   The Department invites comments on all aspects of the program's operations. General comments on other issues pertinent to the program are also requested.

   Persons wishing to give testimony at the public meeting are requested to preregister with the State WIC Program Office by calling (717) 783-1289. Persons unable to attend the meetings, but wishing to express their views, may submit comments by May 31 to the Department either in writing or by E-mail. Direct written comments to: Department of Health, Division of Women, Infants and Children (WIC), Attention: Program Operations and Evaluation Section, P. O. Box 90, Harrisburg, PA 17108. Direct E-mail comments to: BMELLOTT@health.state.pa.us.

   Written comments must be postmarked no later than May 31, 1999; E-mail comments must be received by 5 p.m. May 31, 1999.
