Pennsylvania Rivers Conservation Registry

   3The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), Bureau of Recreation and Conservation has approved the ''Susquehanna River Conservation Plan'' and is placing the portion of the Susquehanna River Watershed studied in the plan on the Pennsylvania Rivers Conservation Registry (Registry).

   Dauphin County submitted the Susquehanna River Conservation Plan and other required information to gain Registry status.

   After review of the Plan and other information, the DCNR has determined that Pennsylvania Rivers Conservation Program requirements have been satisfied and places the following on the Registry:

   1.  A portion of the Susquehanna River Watershed, located within the municipal boundaries of Upper Paxton Township, Halifax Township, Halifax Borough, Millersburg Borough and Reed Township, Dauphin County.

   2.  All tributary streams within the Susquehanna River Watershed area that are located within the municipal boundaries of Upper Paxton Township, Halifax Township, Halifax Borough, Millersburg Borough and Reed Township, Dauphin County.

   This action becomes effective January 16, 1999. Projects identified in the Susquehanna River Conservation Plan become eligible for implementation, development or acquisition grant funding through the Pennsylvania Rivers Conservation Program.

   A copy of the Final Plan is available for review at Tri-County Regional Planning Commission, 112 Market Street, 7th Floor, Harrisburg, PA 17101-2015, (717) 234-2639 and Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Rachel Carson State Office Building, 400 Market Street, 6th Floor, Harrisburg, PA 17105-8475, (717) 787-2316.

   Maps and supporting data are on file at the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission.
