PA Bulletin, Doc. No. 99-182

THE GOVERNOR

[29 Pa.B. 644]

Acceptance of Concurrent Legislative Jurisdiction

I, Governor Thomas J. Ridge, in accordance with the Act of August 5, 1977, P. L. 181, No. 47, § 2, 74 P. S. § 4, hereby notify the public of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's acceptance of concurrent legislative jurisdiction over a portion of the Letterkenny Army Depot Military Reservation in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. This portion of the Letterkenny Army Depot consists of approximately 1,534.36 acres of land located in Letterkenny Township.

The United States Department of Defense, acting through the Department of the Army, seeks to retrocede concurrent legislative jurisdiction over the portion of the military reservation that is open to civilian traffic. Retrocession of legislative jurisdiction does not transfer an estate or other interest in land. The Commonwealth's acceptance of concurrent legislative jurisdiction over the 1,534.36 acres simply permits Pennsylvania's laws to be enforced in conjunction with federal laws on this portion of the military reservation.

Given under my hand and the Seal of the Governor, at the City of Harrisburg, this 21st day of January in the year of our Lord, one thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine and of the Commonwealth, the two hundred and twenty-third.

THOMAS J. RIDGE,

Governor
