Capital Blue Cross and Pennsylvania Blue Shield Community-Rated Group CustomBlue Program Rate Increase; Filing No. 00-C

   Capital Blue Cross and Pennsylvania Blue Shield request an increase in the rates for the Community-Rated Group CustomBlue Program. The proposed increase is 17.36% based on third quarter rates. This rate change will produce an estimated additional annual income of $21.6 million, based on third quarter rates and will affect approximately 31,300 policyholders. This filing also proposes a higher coinsurance and copayment levels in the optional prescription drug coverage. An effective date of October 1, 2000, is being requested.

   Copies of the filing are available for public inspection during normal working hours by appointment at the Insurance Department's office in Harrisburg.

   Interested parties are invited to submit written comments, suggestions, or objections to Bharat Patel, Actuary, Insurance Department, Accident and Health Bureau, Office of Rate and Policy Regulation, 1311 Strawberry Square, Harrisburg, PA 17120, within 30 days of publication of this notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
