Application of Heritage Valley Health System, Surgery Center at Edgeworth Commons for Exception to 28 Pa. Code §§ 563.1, 551.3(iii), 553.31, 555.32(e), 555.23(f), 557.1, 563.8, 565.12 and 567.3

   Under 28 Pa. Code § 51.33 (relating to requests for exceptions), the Department of Health (Department) gives notice that the Surgical Center at Edgeworth Commons has requested an exception to the requirements of 28 Pa. Code § 551.3(iii) which limits the physical status indicators to PS-1, PS-2 and PS-3, § 563.1 which pertains to medical records, § 553.31 management and administration operations, § 555.3(e) requirements for medical staff membership and privileges, § 555.23(e) written transfer agreement with a hospital, § 555.23(f) written agreement with an ambulance service, § 557.1 Quality and Assurance, § 563.8 automation or computer system of medical records, § 565.12 radiology service, and § 567.3 infection control policies and procedures.

   The request is on file with the Department. Persons may receive a copy of the request for exception by requesting a copy from Department of Health, Division of Acute and Ambulatory Care, Room 532, Health and Welfare Building, Harrisburg, PA 17120, (717) 783-8980, Fax: (717) 772-2163, e-mail Address: jinks@state.pa.us.

   Those persons who wish to comment on this exception request may do so by sending a letter by mail, e-mail or facsimile to the Division and address listed.

   Comments received by the Department within 10 days after the date of publication of this notice will be reviewed by the Department before it decides whether to approve or disapprove the request for exception.
