Highmark Inc. d/b/a Pennsylvania Blue Shield; Special Care--Limited Benefit Individual Direct Pay Medical-Surgical Contract; Filing No. 200148

   On September 28, 2001, Highmark Inc, d/b/a Pennsylvania Blue Shield submitted filing no. 200148 seeking approval of a Special Care--Limited Benefit Individual Direct Pay Medical-Surgical Benefits Program to be offered in the 21-counties of the Capital Region of South Central Pennsylvania for coverage effective April 1, 2002. This program will complement the Pennsylvania Blue Shield Special Care Hospital Benefits Program and provide for lower cost coverage to low-income individuals.

   Copies of the filing are available for public inspection during normal working hours, by appointment, at the Insurance Department's regional office in Harrisburg.

   Interested parties are invited to submit written comments, suggestions or objections to Richard Stoner, Office of Rate and Policy Regulation, Insurance Department, 1311 Strawberry Square, Harrisburg, PA 17120, within 30 days after publication of this notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
