Voting Standards Development Board Public Hearing

On Tuesday, June 24, 2003, the Voting Standards Development Board (Board) will hold a public hearing at 10 a.m. in Room 303, North Office Building, Harrisburg. The Board is responsible for developing uniform and nondiscriminatory standards that define what constitutes a valid vote cast through a paper ballot and through each type of electronic voting system, in accordance with section 204 of the Pennsylvania Election Code (25 P. S. § 2624).
Persons wishing to testify must contact Barbara Smotherman of the Department of State (Department) at firstname.lastname@example.org or (717) 787-3796 by Monday June 23, 2003. The Board strongly encourages those testifying to submit a written copy of their testimony by June 23, 2003, to Barbara Smotherman at email@example.com or at the Department of State, 302 North Office Building, Harrisburg, PA 17120. Persons who testify must bring 20 printed copies of their testimony to the hearing. Persons testifying are strongly encouraged to briefly summarize their testimony and to be prepared to respond to questions from the Board. Individuals testifying on their own behalf will be allocated 5 minutes and individuals testifying on behalf of groups will be allocated 10 minutes in which to make their presentation to the Board.
