Availability of 2009 Regional Summer Schools of Excellence Grants

Applications for the 2009 Regional Summer Schools of Excellence Grants of $6,000 to apply to the operation of enrichment projects serving academically and/or artistically talented/gifted youth during July and August of 2009.
1. Eligibility Requirements:
Funding is available on a competitive basis to intermediate units; school districts (serving students in more than one district, except in large cities); charter schools; career and technology centers (CTCs or AVTSs) colleges or universities; not for profit regional chapters or councils for the arts; culture and/or educational organizations or consortia of two or more of the above. Applicants may apply for grants to launch new programs or expand or update existing programs.
2. Application Deadline:
Applications are due close of business, February 27, 2009.

The grant guidelines and application will be available on the Department of Education's web site at www.pde. state.pa.us. On the left side click on: Pre K-12 Schools, Student Services and Programs, Schools of Excellence, Regional Schools of Excellence.
