Statewide Uniform Registry of Electors Advisory Board and State Plan Advisory Board Meetings

On Thursday, October 1, 2009, the Statewide Uniform Registry of Electors (SURE) Advisory Board will meet from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Senate Hearing Room 3 of the North Office Building, Harrisburg, PA. The SURE Advisory Board was established under section 1302-C of the Pennsylvania Election Code (25 P. S. § 3150.2), for the purpose of conferring with the Department of State (Department) on matters relative to the SURE system. The State Plan Advisory Board (Board) will meet on Thursday, October 1, 2009. The Board will meet from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., in Senate Hearing Room 3 of the North Office Building, Harrisburg, PA. The Board is responsible for developing a plan, which details how the Commonwealth will use grants from the Federal government to meet the requirements of the Federal Help America Vote Act of 2002, and ''to carry out other activities to improve the administration of elections.'' This meeting will afford the Secretary the opportunity to address the Board as a whole and will also provide an opportunity for the new members to be introduced to the established members.
