Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs v. Vu Maria Garcia, t/d/b/a Maria Dominican Unisex Salon

 On July 9, 2012, Maria Garcia, t/d/b/a Maria Dominican Unisex Salon license no. CB120765, of Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, was issued a civil penalty of $2,700 based on failure to designate a licensee to be charge in owners absence, salon license not displayed, practicing on an expired salon license, unlicensed individuals providing cosmetology services, no clock timer, insufficient combs and brushes, failed to have a closed container for sanitized implements, no fire extinguisher within the salon and insufficient number of towels per station as required by State Board of Cosmetology (Board) regulation.

 Individuals may obtain a copy of the adjudication by writing to C. William Fritz, II, Board Counsel, State Board of Cosmetology, P. O. Box 2649, Harrisburg, PA 17105-2649.

 This adjudication and final order represents the Board's final decision in this matter. It may be appealed to the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania by the filing of a petition for review with that court in accordance with the Pennsylvania Rules of Appellate Procedure. Individuals who take an appeal to the Commonwealth Court must serve the Board with a copy of their petition for review. The Board contact for receiving service of the appeals is the previously-named Board counsel.
