Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission; Public Hearing on Revisions to Pollution Control Standards Regarding Date of Elimination of Mixing Zones

 Under the authority in Article VI of the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Compact and by direction of the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission (Commission), a public hearing will be held by the Commission on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at the Airport Holiday Inn, 1717 Airport Exchange Boulevard, Erlanger, KY.

 The Department of Environmental Protection (Department) is publishing this notice as a member state of ORSANCO and to ensure that the citizens of this Commonwealth who may be affected by changes to stream standards on the Ohio River have an opportunity to comment on the proposed changes.

 The hearing will be conducted from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. or until completed on August 13, 2013. The record of the hearing shall remain open and written testimony accepted for 30 calendar days after the hearing or until 12 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2013.

 The purpose of the hearing will be to receive comments concerning the proposed amendment to the Commission's Pollution Control Standards for the modification or treatment of all sewage and industrial wastes discharged or permitted to flow into the Ohio River by extending from October 16, 2013, to October 16, 2015, the date by which all mixing zones for Bioaccumulative Chemicals of Concern must be eliminated for discharges to the Ohio River.

 Parties whose interest may be affected by the hearing or by any action of the Commission which may be taken as the result of the hearing will be given adequate opportunity to express, either orally or in writing, their views upon the issue to be considered. Brief oral summaries and submission of written summaries are encouraged.

 Interested parties desiring additional information concerning the amendment to be considered at the hearing or concerning the conduct of the hearing or desiring information with regard to evidence, views or recommendations to be submitted at the hearing may obtain information through the Commission's web site at www.orsanco.org or by contacting the Commission at 5735 Kellogg Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45230, (513) 231-7719. In addition, announcements of informational workshops or webinars will be posted on the Commission's previously listed web site.
