Mahanoy Creek Watershed Conservation Plan
[43 Pa.B. 5473]
[Saturday, September 14, 2013]
The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (Department), Bureau of Recreation and Conservation has approved the Mahanoy Creek Watershed Conservation Plan (Plan) and is placing the Mahanoy Creek Watershed and all tributaries covered in the Plan in Columbia, Northumberland and Schuylkill Counties on the Pennsylvania Rivers Conservation Registry (Registry).
The Northern Schuylkill Council of Governments submitted the Plan and other required information to gain Registry status.
After review of the Plan and other information, the Department has determined that the Pennsylvania Rivers Conservation Program (Program) requirements have been satisfied and places the following on the Registry:
• The watershed area of Mahanoy Creek (Columbia, Northumberland and Schuylkill Counties) from the headwaters to its confluence with the Susquehanna River—157 square miles.
• All tributary streams within the Mahanoy Creek Watershed.
This action becomes effective September 14, 2013. Projects identified in the Mahanoy Creek Watershed River Conservation Plan become eligible for implementation, development or acquisition grant funding through the Program.
A copy of the Final Plan is available for review at the Mahanoy Creek Watershed Association, 15 Barry Road, Ashland, PA 17921 and the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Rachel Carson State Office Building, 400 Market Street, 5th Floor, Harrisburg, PA 17101, (717) 783-2712.
