[44 Pa.B. 5949]
[Saturday, September 13, 2014]

Tentative Order

Chapter 22 of 66 Pa.C.S. (relating to Natural Gas Choice and Competition Act), effective July 1, 1999, requires the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (Commission) to convene stakeholders and explore avenues to encourage increased competition in the natural gas supply market. See 66 Pa.C.S. § 2204(g) (relating to implementation). On September 12, 2013, the Commission issued an Order at Docket No. I-2013-2381742 initiating the Investigation of Pennsylvania's Retail Natural Gas Supply Market.

In a Tentative Order adopted at its August 21, 2014, public meeting at this Docket number, the Commission summarizes comments filed in response to the Commission's September 12, 2013 Order, disposes of some issues, and seeks to identify any additional issues in the retail natural gas supply market to facilitate improvements and encourage competition for the benefit of consumers in this Commonwealth. A copy of the Tentative Order can be found on the Commission's website at http://www.puc.pa.gov/utility_industry/natural_gas/natrual_gas_rmi.aspx.

Upon review of the comments to the September 12, 2013 Order, the Commission announces specific topics and issues in the August 21, 2014 Tentative Order that the Commission intends to pursue in this Investigation. The Commission also invites interested parties to further comment on any issues or market enhancements that have not already been discussed or identified as matters to be addressed in this Investigation, or both. Interested parties have 30 days from the date of the publication of this notice to file written comments with the Secretary of the Commission, referencing Docket No. I-2013-2381742.

The Commission's Office of Competitive Markets Oversight will consider all positions of interested parties in developing recommendations for the Commission's consideration.

ROSEMARY CHIAVETTA,
Secretary
