On January 3, 2018, Jacqueline N. Barnes, LPN, license No. PN279416, of Arnold, Westmoreland County, was indefinitely suspended, retroactive to July 12, 2017, and ordered to pay $755 in costs of investigation, based on being unable to practice practical nursing with reasonable skill and safety to patients by reason of addiction to alcohol or addiction to hallucinogenic or narcotic drugs or other drugs which tend to impair judgement or coordination, so long as such dependence shall continue or has become mentally incompetent.

This order represents the final State Board of Nursing (Board) decision in this matter. It may be appealed to the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania by the filing of a petition for review with that court in accordance with the Pennsylvania Rules of Appellate Procedure. Individuals who take an appeal to the Commonwealth Court must serve the Board with a copy of their petition for review.
