Draft Stream Evaluation Reports; Available for Public Comment

 Under 25 Pa. Code § 93.4d (relating to processing of petitions, evaluations and assessments to change a designated use), the Department of Environmental Protection (Department) gives notice that the following Draft Stream Evaluation Reports are available for public comment on the Department's web site for a 30-day comment period.

 The Bermudian Creek evaluation was conducted in response to a request from the Department's Southcentral Regional Office that identified a potential conflict between the Fish and Boat Commission (Commission) Wild Trout Waters classification and the Warm Water Fishes (WWF), Migratory Fishes (MF) designation for a portion of the basin. The Bermudian Creek basin from the source to UNT 08727 is currently listed on the Commission Wild Trout Waters list. The Bermudian Creek basin is currently designated WWF, MF with the exception of the Latimore Creek subbasin, which is currently designated Cold Water Fishes (CWF), MF.

 The Logan Spring Run evaluation was conducted in response to a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit renewal for the Narehood Quarry located at the confluence of Logan Spring Run and the Little Juniata River. The Logan Spring Run basin is currently designated WWF, MF. The Narehood Quarry NPDES permit has been renewed consistent with recommendations in the draft report.

 The UNT 64027 to Sixpenny Creek evaluation was conducted in response to a request from the Nature Conservancy and the results of routine Departmental aquatic life use surveys. UNT 64027 to Sixpenny Creek is currently designated High Quality—CWF, MF.

 The draft reports are available for review on the Department's eComment web site at www.ahs.dep.pa.gov/eComment.

 The Department has asked all relevant local jurisdictions to make a copy of this notification available to any and all interested citizens, including those who own real property in the relevant municipalities and to any other parties the municipalities believe may be interested in these evaluations and draft reports.

 Interested persons may submit written comments through Monday, December 16, 2019. All comments, including comments submitted by e-mail, must include the originator's name and address. Commentators are encouraged to submit comments using the Department's online eComment tool at www.ahs.dep.pa.gov/eComment or by e-mail to ecomment@pa.gov. Written comments can also be mailed to the Department of Environmental Protection, Policy Office, Rachel Carson State Office Building, P.O. Box 2063, Harrisburg, PA 17105-2063. All comments received on the draft reports during the public comment period will be reviewed and considered in the Department's evaluation.
