Review Procedure Hearing under the Unfair Insurance Practices Act

 The following insureds have requested a hearing as authorized by section 8 of the Unfair Insurance Practices Act (act), (40 P.S. § 1171.8) in connection with the termination of the insureds' homeowners policy. The hearing will be held in accordance with the requirements of the act; 2 Pa.C.S. §§ 501—508, 561—588 and 701—704 (relating to Administrative Agency Law); 1 Pa. Code Part II (relating to General Rules of Administrative Practice and Procedure); and 31 Pa. Code §§ 56.1—56.3 (relating to Special Rules of Administrative Practice and Procedure). This administrative hearing will be held as follows. Failure by the appellants to appear at the scheduled hearing may result in dismissal with prejudice. This administrative hearing will be held virtually by means of Zoom. Failure by the appellants to appear at the scheduled Zoom hearing may result in dismissal with prejudice.

 The parties and their representatives and witnesses shall join the Zoom hearing through the link supplied in the invitation. The Administrative Hearings Office may be contacted at (717) 783-2126, ra-hearings@pa.gov.

 Following the Zoom hearing and receipt of the stenographic transcript, the Insurance Commissioner will issue a written order resolving the factual issues presented at the Zoom hearing and stating what remedial action, if any, is required. The Commissioner's Order will be sent to those persons participating in the Zoom hearing or their designated representatives. The Order of the Commissioner may be subject to judicial review by the Commonwealth Court.
