Draft Advisory Committee Guidelines

[26 Pa.B. 2453]

The Department's various advisory committees provide valuable input to the Department in the development of regulations and policies. In an effort to continue to promote the Department's effective use of these advisory committees, the Department has developed draft advisory committee guidelines for public comment.

These guidelines are designed to supplement the legislative mandates and provide assistance for communities whose authorization is not based in statute. The guidelines include recommendations on by-laws, rules of procedure, roles and responsibilities, membership, meeting notices and schedules agendas, minutes and expenses.

Comments on the draft guidelines should be sub- mitted by July 26 to Chris Allen, Public Partici- pation Coordinator, P. O. Box 2063, Harrisburg, PA 17105-2063; telephone (717) 787-9580; or e-mail Allen. Christopher@A1.dep.state.pa.us. Copies of the draft guidelines are also available from Chris Allen and on the DEP Web Site at http://www.dep.state.pa.us (choose Public Participation Center/Advisory Committees/Guidelines).
