Monroe County

Pursuant to the provisions of 71 P. S. § 2002(b), the Secretary of Transportation makes the following written finding:

The Department of Transportation plans to construct a new three and four lane limited access facility approximately 3,700 m (2.3 miles) in length connecting U. S. Route (US) 209, Business US 209, and State Route (SR) 402, bypassing existing intersections in the Village of Marshalls Creek, Monroe County.

Three at-grade signalized intersections will be included in the design at the following locations: US 209/County Bridge Road, SR 402/Oak Grove Drive, and US 209/Mount Nebo Road/Oak Grove Drive. Congestion Management System improvements include the installation of traffic signals and turn lanes at the following existing intersections: US 209/Shawnee Road, US 209/River Road, and River Road/Buttermilk Falls Road. In addition, a Park-n-Ride facility will be constructed within the northeast quadrant of the proposed US 209/Mount Nebo Road/Oak Grove Drive intersection.

No adverse environmental effect is likely to result from the construction of this project.
