2009 Water Quality Assessment and Listing Methodology

[39 Pa.B. 4178]
[Saturday, July 18, 2009]

The Department of Environmental Protection (Department) is required to provide the public with the opportunity to review and comment on the methodology used to assess water use attainment status of streams and lakes listed in its ''Integrated Water Quality Monitoring and Assessment Report.'' The 60-day public comment period for the updated 2009 Assessment and Listing Methodology closed June 12, 2009. No objections to the protocols were received and the new version now supersedes the older 2007 Assessment Methodology. This updated methodology will be used to generate the 2010 ''Integrated Water Quality Monitoring and Assessment Report.''

The 2009 Assessment and Listing Methodology can be viewed on the Department's web site at www. depweb.state.pa.us (under ''Water Topics,'' select ''Water Quality,'' then scroll down to the ''Monitoring'' heading and select ''2009 Assessment Methodology''). Due to the size of the document, it will not be available in hardcopy.
