§ 43.27. Loose rock.

 (a)  The superintendent of the tunnel shall order a competent person to make a daily inspection of the roof. All loose pieces of rock shall be removed from the roof and sides of the excavation.

 (b)  After a blast is fired, loosened pieces of rock shall be scaled from the roof and sides of the excavation. After the blasting is completed, the entire locality shall be thoroughly scaled and all loose rock or ground shall be removed and the excavation made safe before proceeding with the work.
