Project Description: The Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority, which administers the Commonwealth's State Revolving Fund, is intended to be the funding source for this project, known as the Lehighton Water Authority Distribution Main Replacement Project. The Authority proposes to replace approximately 1.5 mile of existing distribution system main in portions of North 1st Street, 9th Street and Mahoning Drive, including replacement of fire hydrants, gate valves and service connections (up to the curb box) along the project route. The Department's review of the project concluded that the project is eligible to be categorically excluded from the environmental review process, and a subsequent public review confirmed that there are no exceptional circumstances that warrant an Environmental Assessment.
