§ 1.1. Definitions.

 The following words and terms, when used in this chapter, have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:

   Commission—The Historical and Museum Commission.

   Property—A property, area, site, building, museum or facility under the jurisdiction of the Commission.

   Property head—The person designated by the Commission to have local administrative responsibility.

§ 1.3. Conduct.

 Conduct which is detrimental to the specified or intended use of a property is prohibited, and conduct which poses a threat to the welfare, safety or protection of persons using a property is prohibited.

§ 1.6. Conduct in buildings.

 (a)  Loitering in buildings is prohibited.

 (b)  Food and beverages are not permitted in buildings other than those designated for such usage.

 (c)  Smoking except in designated areas, is prohibited.

 (d)  For public health and safety persons shall be in street clothing, including shoes.

 (e)  Touching or handling of furnishings or items for exhibit is prohibited.

§ 1.7. Vehicular traffic.

 (a)  Commercial vehicles. The operation of vehicles being used for commercial purposes on a property road, except to provide authorized services to the property, is prohibited.

 (b)  Vehicles not requiring a licensed operator. Operating a vehicle which does not require a licensed operator such as snowmobile, minibike or the like is prohibited on properties except where specifically provided for under Chapter 5 (relating to special provisions) (Reserved).

 (c)  Bicycling. Bicycling is permitted only in designated sections of the property. Caution is urged in riding in congested traffic areas.

 (d)  Operating vehicles. Operating a vehicle within the confines of a Commonwealth property is subject to 75 Pa.C.S. § §  101—8122 (relating to Vehicle Code).

 (e)  Parking or stopping of vehicles. Parking or stopping vehicles on other than designated roads or parking areas is prohibited. Unauthorized parking within the confines of a property after normal closing hours is prohibited.

§ 1.9. Fires.

 Fires shall be confined to designated areas and facilities and shall be smothered or doused with water before dumping to assure that there are no hot ashes. Fires may be completely prohibited by the Property Head.

§ 1.10. Soliciting.

 The posting of signs or the distribution, selling, servicing or renting of supplies, equipment, material or commodity without written authorization from the Commission is prohibited.

§ 1.12. Pets.

 Pets shall be kept on a leash not exceeding 6 feet in length and shall be attended at all times. Pets except dog guides will not be permitted in buildings. Lost pets will be turned over to the local S.P.C.A. at the end of each business day.

§ 1.13. Loudspeakers or public address systems.

 Loudspeakers or public address systems may not be used without written permission of the Property Head.

§ 1.14. Meetings, group assemblies and the like.

 Meetings, group assemblies, musical or theatrical entertainment or other gatherings shall have the prior approval of the Commission as given by the Property Head.

§ 1.16. Outdoor recreation and activities.

 (a)  Horseback riding. Horseback riding is permitted only at locations where specifically authorized by Chapter 5 (relating to special provisions) (Reserved).

 (b)  Fishing. Fishing is permitted only at locations where specifically authorized by Chapter 5.

 (c)  Swimming and boating. Swimming and boating are permitted only at locations where specifically authorized by Chapter 5.

 (d)  Camping. Camping is permitted only at locations and under circumstances which are reiterated in Chapter 5.

 (e)  Hunting. Hunting, trapping and the training of dogs are permitted only at locations where specifically authorized by Chapter 5.
